TCBA Committees

Governmental Affairs
The Governmental Affairs Committee takes an active interest in the actions of state and local governing bodies as they relate to the home building industry.

Membership
The Membership Committee oversees and provides counsel in matters relating to membership development and retention. The committee makes recommendations with regard to the Spike Club and takes up such matters relating to the Association's relationships with its membership as may be assigned by the President or by the Executive Committee. Any member may serve as chairman and as vice chairman of this committee.

Public Relations
The Public Relations committee promotes the association's reputation as the "Voice of the Treasure Coast's Housing Industry" through public and media relations, special events, and community collaboration. The Public Relations Committee oversees efforts to hone TCBA's messages so that they resonate with key audiences. The committee also communicates association news and information to members and conducts public relations programs that help TCBA achieve its goals.

Long Range Planning
The Long Range Planning Committee is responsible for planning the future of the association, and setting goals and objectives for a five-year period.

By-Laws Committee
The By-Laws Committee is responsible for monitoring both the purpose statement and the bylaws of the association, and for recommending changes to the Board.

Education
The Education Committee has oversight and responsibility for development, management, promotion, delivery and evaluation of all member business education programs and products.

The Committee evaluates current programs, prioritizes new program requests, oversees the trade show education seminars, and manages a speaker-training program.

Members of the Education Committee serve both as advocates of education, as a valued core association service, and as representatives for the specific content-developing constituencies wherein they have special knowledge and expertise.

Golf Tournament
The Golf Committee plans, organizes and markets all TCBA golf tournaments. Responsibilities include working with TCBA's Special Projects Director to build tournament sponsorship packages and secure sponsors, plan related award ceremonies, determine tournament format and rules, and promote the events to members as well as non-members.

Fishing Tournament
The Fishing Tournament Committee plans, organizes and markets the annual Memorial Weekend Fishing Tournament. Responsibilities include working with TCBA's Special Projects Director to secure site locations, build tournament sponsorship packages and secure sponsors, plan related award ceremonies, determine tournament format and rules, and promote the events to members as well as non-members.

Builders Trade Show
The Builders Trade Show Committee plans, organizes and markets the annual Builders Expo and Home Show. Responsibilities include working with TCBA's Special Projects Director to secure site locations, build and market sponsorship packages, recruit exhibitors, and promote the show to members and non-members.

Parade of Homes
The Parade of Homes Committee plans, organizes and markets the annual Parade of Homes and its awards banquet. Responsibilities include marketing the event, securing participants and judges, establishing entry and judging criteria, and planning/organizing the award ceremony.

Trades Council
The Trades Council provides a venue for sub-contractors to meet and discuss mutual challenges, meet with builders, and network with other sub-contractors.

Builders & Books
The Builders & Books Committee plans, organizes and markets the program to members, establishes sponsorship levels and reward programs/ceremonies, and ensures all contributions are in compliance with Big Brothers Big Sisters policies.

Homes of Our Own
The Homes of Our Own Committee plans, organizes and markets the annual building of a Homes of Our Own. Responsibilities include seeking in-kind donations of labor and materials, marketing the event to members for participation, securing a building site, organizing the day, incorporating the educational component of the program to children and educators, and thanking all participants, contributors and organizers.

Sales & Marketing Council
The TCBA Sales & Marketing Council helps builders sell more homes more effectively. The council provides training, offers awards and recognition programs, such as the Medallion Awards, and provides sales and marketing tools to members.
